Ball players from the area are welcome to sign up for this year’s Penn State DuBois Youth Baseball Clinics scheduled for Feb. 9, and 10, at the Baseball Bank, 309 Aspen Way, in DuBois. Young athletes will have the opportunity to train with coaches and players from the 2017-18 USCAA Small College World Series Championship Team.
The Penn State DuBois volleyball and cross-country teams had a very successful fall as they both earned spots at the United State Collegiate (USCAA) National Championship events in their perspective sports. Both competed in Virginia Beach, Virgina, over this past week.
The Penn State DuBois volleyball team has earned its first-ever bid to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association’s national tournament. DuBois kicks off its championship play with games at 11:30 a.m. on both Nov. 8 and 9 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
The Penn State DuBois baseball team, champions of the 2018 USCAA Small College World Series, was recognized for its success during the All-University Day football game at Beaver stadium on Sept. 15. The team was honored in the second quarter of the game against Kent State.
The 2018 Small College World Series Champion Penn State DuBois baseball team is ready to take the field again for a short “fall ball” season. They’ll kick things off at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16, as they play host to Jamestown Community College in a doubleheader at Showers Field.
On Friday night, the Penn State DuBois Lady Lions traveled to Butler to take on BCCC for their first match of the season. DuBois won three straight 25-19, 25-20 and 25-14.
Area golfers are invited to sign up a team for the Ninth Annual Penn State DuBois Golf Benefit, hosted by the DuBois Educational Foundation. This four-person scramble is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 21, at the Treasure Lake Silver Course. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m., and lunch will be provided prior to a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
Two former Penn State DuBois basketball players are on their way to Los Angeles to play for millions this week. Tristan Pierce and Sam Roselli both joined the DuBois Dream after graduation, where they've had the opportunity to continue playing the sport they love on a professional, minor league level. The Dream has been selected to participate in ESPN's "The Basketball Tournament" (TBT) running this weekend in Los Angeles, California.
